Clown Masters

This exhibition catalog with 42 photographs brings together what is probably the largest collection of contemporary clown portraits. Created at the International Circus Festival in Monte Carlo and in collaboration with the world's most renowned circus houses, it shows the masters of laughter in unusual intensity. Pit Bühler has staged the clowns with the precision and rigor of an old master. Dramatic lighting, controlled shadows and the finest details allow personalities to emerge that would otherwise remain hidden behind make-up and spectacle. PIT BUEHLER |  ESSAY

Baar local history book

Hidden in plain sightThey all have something in common - something mysterious, something unspoken, something that runs deep. slumbers in secrecy and remains hidden from the public eye - all the way to the obvious, which for is understandable and visible to everyone. It is their stories, their past and present activities and occupations or simply their lives and their destinies, which connect them with each other. Even if the reasons for my choice remain, at least in part, hidden from the viewer - The compilation of this portrait series felt like an exciting puzzle to me, which had to be put together piece by piece without instructions and without a clear idea - until in the end the .group of 20″ could be completed - with people who all have a very personal Baar and some of them have become an integral part of the Baar townscape. I lived in Baar for more than forty years, spending my childhood and youth here - After agreeing to take part in this photo essay, I set off on a journey into the past. I remembered long-forgotten times, reflected on personal experiences and experiences and encounters and reminded me of stories I had once heard and of Friendships that have lasted all these years. So, piece by piece, a list was created of twenty exciting and extraordinary people, drawn from a variety of backgrounds. eras, social classes and cultural circles, which were brought together for this essay. The patient elderly lady who ran a small basement kiosk in the neighborhood when I was a child, the boy who used to hang around the Platzspilz more than forty years ago, the amiable man who lives in the Baar train station, the 'Caballero', who had already been a led the carnival procession on horseback to the inventor of a new virtual currency and the artist, who is currently working on the sculpture for the Swiss Wrestling Festival.
