The Bloom Bloom series presents dancers from some of the world's most renowned ballet institutions: the legendary Bolshoi Ballet in Moscow, the National Ballet of Ukraine in Kiev, the famous Leningrad Center in St. Petersburg and the National Academic Bolshoi Opera and Ballet Theatre of Belarus in Minsk. In the photographs, the dancers' movements unfold into poetic compositions, their flowing dresses transforming into organic forms reminiscent of flowers and transforming dance into a visual metaphor of nature.
Pit Buehler's lighting is of central importance here: precisely placed, dramatic and at the same time perfectly balanced. It models bodies and fabrics, emphasizes the tension of the movement and creates an atmosphere that immediately captivates the viewer. The result is a visual poem about dance that transforms the energy and elegance of these world-famous ensembles into timeless images - a tribute to the art form itself and proof of the power of photography to transform movement into lasting, almost sculptural moments.
