Balancing act between two personalities

Out of the circus ring and quickly in front of the lens. Pit Buehler has captured authentic Portraits of clowns and artists.
The photos were taken in circuses all over the world. The artists photographed come from Russia, Ukraine, Switzerland, Italy and Germany. Pit Buehler has already traveled to over S5 countries to pursue his passion. The photographs can be seen in the «Commedia dell'arte» exhibition at the Gememdehaus in Unterägen. Due to the size of the pictures, the facial expressions of the protagonists are even more impressive. He himself had never seen these paintings in this size before the exhibition.
Some artists had trouble taking off their masks
«The aim of my picture series is to capture the area between the person in the spotlight and the actual real personality». erzäsays the photographer from Baar. Otherwise pictures can quickly appear staged,» says the Baar globetrotter Pit Buehler has now built up a network in the circus scene and cultivates Contacts with many artists. He feels very comfortable in this environment and has got to know many exciting personalities, which has also motivated him to continue with the series of pictures. The «Commedia dell'ane» project is not finished yet and we can look forward to more interesting and expressive pictures.
